Chapter 3: Glittering Flowers in the Sky
It had been a week since I had met Julius in the forest. Right after Julius had run off Fressia had started to chastise me, telling me that going in the forest was a bad idea and now that I had disobeyed her I had met a creep who stalked me. Finally, she had finished up by calling my parents. They had agreed with her and told her to pass on to me that I was coming back home with her in two weeks since I could not behave. I believed myself to be indifferent to this, but a sliver of myself was unhappy with this. I disregarded it and went on with my life. Today, Friday-as I have said, a week later-is the fireworks festival. Just like every year I had planned to watch them from my window seat. That is, until I heard a small tap at my window. I looked down, and sitting there was Julius. He softly opened the window and pulled me out. "Would you like to go see the fireworks?" I nodded my head, and he whisked me away to the beach. Once we arrived there he spread out a blanket and motioned for me to sit on it. I did so and he said "We still have time to spare. Do you remember me?" I shook my head, knowing that he was asking for before the previous week. "We were very good friends Melodi. But one day you fell down the stairs and hit your head so hard you forgot alot of things. I tried to rescue you, and it made me very sad when you woke up and asked me who I was, so I left for this town." The fireworks started and I watched them while thinking about what I had just been told. 'It explained why I could only remember up to a certain point, but when did I get my illne-' Speaking of the devil, I could feel the blood rise in my throat. I ran away from Julius and threw up.
