Saffy said it would be a good idea to start a bar thread for entertainment :o
I just thought that I should take this opportunity to mention how amazing House is. |

Coincidentally, The DerfSlerf was previously known as The Bar. Perhaps a better name could be in order?
So yes, we have a general video game chat so I'm happy with an entertainment chat. I have no idea how this topic will actually work out though. And I'm not sure what to even discuss yet! *fails* House is pretty good. |

Well um... What shows does everybody like to watch? Any good books anybody has read recently? Movies in theatres?
The Last Airbender was HORRIBLE but I'm so happy I went to see it. Not quite as bad as Dragonball Evolution but still worth seeing. "So bad it's good" is in full effect. The last book I read cover-to-cover for my own purposes (read: not school) was called The Hypochondriac's Pocket Guide to Horrible Diseases You Probably Already Have. |

I'm still reading through The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, where I'm on the fourth book. I haven't bothered to read in a while now though, which I keep meaning to do.
The Last Airbender sounds very disappointing, though I admit I would have liked to see it myself. Oh well, I plan to see Inception tomorrow though. |

Oh yeah? I heard it's very good but I don't even know what it's about (somebody told me, but I forget (as I did most of the rest of that evening)).
One of my favourite books, It's Kind of a Funny Story, is get its own movie :) I'm thrilled, I've been waiting for years. Edit: I had thought of Hard Rock Cafe as a potential name but didn't know where copyrights came into effect :p Edit again: immd.bmp ( 77.26K ) Number of downloads: 17 that just made my day |

Yes, Darth, that name will do nicely. Too bad the restaurant isn't all that special - in terms of food.

I've only seen a few random episodes of House, but I can't complain.
Yay, Pixel, that's amusing :) We go from Cafe to Hardrock Cafe. I am amused. |

House is great. I own all 5 seasons on DVD and will get 6 on release day if I can :)
@Crystal: I do like the earlier seasons, but season 4 is my favourite. I liked the early seasons a lot better too at first, but I kind of fell in love with the new team (as well as Amber and Cole, it's a shame they couldn't stick around) and season 4 gives a good balance :) It's a good show. I may or may not be obsessed. |

I miss watching CSI at night with Pippa and others where I'd fall asleep on the couch. Those were good nights.

I honestly can't keep track of which season is which in live action shows. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
When I say, "earlier seasons" I'm referring to before House went into rehab. The show just seemed to get kind of sissy after that. House stopped acting like a real jerk, it focused more on character development more, and it just wasn't as fun anymore. We did not appreciate the change. "We" being my mother and I. =3 |

So by earlier seasons you mean 1-5, the current season being #6 :p Usually when I hear "earlier seasons" I imagine when he had his old team as opposed to the new one.
CSI is pretty good. As I read that post I was listening to Won't Be Fooled Again :p |

Seasons one through five, yes.
I could care less who's on House's team, so long as House is House. =3 In the latest season, he's hardly House, anymore. ='( |

I can't really get a good feel for season 6 yet. I'll marathon it when it comes out and see what I think. It's hard to get a big-picture view when I'm basing my opinion on 22 episodes starting 10 months ago, instead of every other season (I watch 2-3 episodes a day usually, but I haven't watched any today).
I'm worried House/Cuddy being official is going to ruin the show. The only thing I really like about them as a pairing is their UST and constant bickering/House making crude sexual jokes. I don't see how that's going to work in a relationship. |

I stopped watching the sixth season about halfway through. It was in the same timeslot as my class and I kept forgetting to tape it. >_>
I wasn't really into it, anyway. I missed House being a jerk too much. Although, if were gonna talk about stuff I miss . . . I miss the show, Pushing Daisies. That was terrific! It was also short-lived. |

Pushing Daisies! Kyle kept trying to get me to watch it. I liked the show, but we didn't finish the first episode.

Pushing Daisies was a spectacular show! It was my favorite show, it probably still is.
I don't why I enjoyed the morbid humor so much. The way they killed people was so creative and funny. The acting was wonderful. I loved the conversations that went on among the characters. The romance was beautiful, so in love and unable to touch! Jim Dale tied it all together with perfect whisical narration! <3 |

Did they release that on DVD? I'll have to check the library, I missed a few episodes . . .
You know Kristen Chenowith played Glinda in the original opening of the play Wicked? All the more reason to love the show. <3 |
