Okay, I got a Mac today! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif)

BUT now I have my old ugly HP PC laptop that doesn't work....what do I do with it?
Is there a recycling place for them?

There should be a recycling place for them. You could probably talk to Best Buy or some other store about where to find them. Or you could keep your old laptop as a back-up in case something goes wrong with your new one or if you need two at one point or whatever.

Just don't throw it in the trash, I'm not sure that's legal. 0_o

What kind of HP laptop do you have? I wish to know your definition of ugly.

Congratulations on the Mac though. How much did the beast cost you? What sort of Mac is it?

Anyhow, I'd just keep your laptop around. I have my old one just sitting on my dresser doing nothing. I used it for backups or for the occasional awesome two laptops going at once.

Yeah, I think I might search for one of those, Crystal.

Jason: HA! Yes, it had all that, but see the thing is....it's really busted. You don't want it. I took it to fix and they RUINED it even more! =/ I think it's a 2005?

Saffy: (IMG:http://www.techcurse.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/new-mackbook-pro.jpg) This is what I bought! It cost me like 1,600

and I have this HP...(IMG:http://www.cheaplaptops.org.uk/wp-content/laptopimg/2008/05/hp-dv6000-notebook-pc.jpg)

AHHH! I'm still getting used to it and it's hard to post pics...

Wow.

*think HP looks nicer than Mac*

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)

So, how's the Mac working out? Better than PC?

HA! I do admit that it's a bit odd next to the keyboard, but I think it's actually way nicer! Especially when it's in the closed position.
It's super good! I'm just having trouble with it. I'm not used to its ways, especially when it comes to using the mouse square touch thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I haven't had time to play around with it.

What needed to be fixed? Hardware or software?

Hardware. The hard drive! Or whatever. The DVD thing does not work anymore, in order to turn it on you must power it on and off MULTIPLE times and it has sucky battery power. Plus the wifi doesn't work...

Awww, darn, I'm in desperate need of a laptop, but it sounds like too much of a problem, especially when the features I would need most don't work. D;

Keep it! In case the mac goes out you have a semi-backup. Or an extra HD for storage. Or a handy coaster.

Haha! Yeah, I guess I could always use it as a bed for my cats. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Jason, try looking on Craigslist?

You should use your old laptop to place your Mac on top of. Show your superiority.

Ooo! Yay! A Mac?? That is soooooooo cool! If my sister knew she'd be sooooo jealous. x] Eh, from your description of your old laptop, I'd have to say use it as target practice when you go out to the shooting range...>-> Turn off and on multiple times? Sounds like my Facebook page...-_-'' I had a dream I got one of those mini laptop things? Then I couldn't figure out WHY I got one, when I have my own Gateway that isn't even a year old yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I hope you have lots of fun with it!!

Get a couple of your friends and some sledgehammers, and go Office Space on it. :D
Then walk into Best Buy and ask them what you should do with it.

Macs are cool beans, and they're easy to figure out; I figured out everything I needed to within a couple of days of getting mine. I got it over two years ago, and it's a bottom-of-the-line white 13.3'' model. Still works fantastically, apart from being too obsolete to play Sims 3. ;-;
Anyway, you'll get used to it pretty quickly. And then Windows will feel so, so weird. o___o

Saffy: XDXD Yeah! I should totally do that!! *does it*

Zen: Thanks! It's really cool, I've heard good things about Gateways too.

Marley: That's what I'm thinking of doing, taking it in to Best Buy to recycle.

They should be able to recycle the parts in it.
