I'm on the flower festival now-- Neil is a purple heart and I just built Tina's house. Still only two cows, but built a coop and hopefully getting chickens soon. Sadly I did not win the crop festival :<

I ended on day 7 of summer.

Tina's here and I got the first song. Black heart event with Neil accomplished, and got him to a purple heart. Finally got a chicken (named it Klook cause I was tipsy when I was playing and for some reason that was funny at the time), and spent most of my money on materials for stuff... nearly done with restoration plan 1. (5 more iron!)

And I want to do some headcanons for my character/town because... I'm an adult. And I can do as I please. I'd like to see some of yours too!
--Haru is slightly socially awkward and moved to the village to escape a world of customer service, which causes her anxiety.
--She got a degree in architecture but couldn't get hired anywhere, so had to work odd jobs. That's why she can build houses like a pro.
--She's a hippie who communes with nature (hence she can see the harvest sprites) and spends way too much time in the woods with the animals. She is very dreamy/ditzy/easily distracted.
--She has an unhealthy lack of fear for the wild creatures, especially the bear. Against all odds the bear has not eaten her yet.
--Toni and Haru got off to a bad start while collecting stuff for their house and he plays pranks on her and makes her life difficult by sabotaging her farming efforts. They both secretly think the other one is cool though.
--Neil scares the s*** out of her and she has anxiety attacks when he's around cause of his rough mode of speech. After his black heart event she warmed up to him slightly, but still can hardly keep her voice up when she orders things from his shop.
--She idolizes Tina and tries to emulate her.
--Haru freeloads off of Emma all the time (and Emma just sort of allows it because she knows Haru's poor) She shows up unexpectedly for lunch/tea and they talk about novels and dreams they've had and weird experiences.
--Haru is not a very good farmer, but she thinks she's awesome. Doesn't understand why she lost the crop festival.
--Iroha makes her feel simultaneously calm and wistful. She's envious of her collected nature and beauty. They hang out after work sometimes. Haru always feels like she's bugging her, but so far she's the best friend she's got in town.
--Fishing is her favorite pastime and she often escapes to the woods to fish and dream the day away.
--Almost regretted moving to town on her birthday since no one was there to celebrate it with her. She cried that night, but other than that has fended off homesickness.
--She longs for love, but is empowered and satisfied by her independence.
--Haru is HORRIBLE with her finances. Total impulse buyer. Admits she has a problem.

I know Gear and I talked about doing Innocent Life, since I didn't have ANB, but I found out that I'll most likely be receiving this on Christmas (along with RF4, yay), so I'll jump in once I have it.

It appears she has taken a shine to the new resident... She went over early in the morning to find his door unlocked. No, Haru, no. This is not how you make a good impression on someone you like. Fortunately he slept through it.

Hey, have you ever given Soseki an old coin? I recommend doing so. His dialogue suggests that he eats them! That may explain why he spends so much time at the clinic...

Anyway, I started my file last night.

His name is supposed to be "Hazzard" (with two "z's"), but let's just say that his birth certificate allowed only 6 letters, so they sacrificed one "z." (Otherwise his name would be "Hazzar" and that just doesn't work.) It's a strange name, but it's one that has been passed down through the generations, and Hazard's parents have great respect for tradition.

However, why he named his farm "Farm" is a complete mystery. Anyone who asks about it will not receive an answer.

Hazard was quite busy all Spring long, catching and selling bugs, growing turnips and potatoes, and hoarding materials that he will be able to use for construction later. He also immediately bought grass seeds so that he could begin harvesting fodder, which came in quite handy when Neil showed up with the cow from Dunhill. (It *would* have been nice of Dunhill to tell Hazard beforehand that he'd gotten him a cow, but, whatever. Hazard had plenty of food for it.)

In the Spring crop festival, Hazard placed second in the amateur category. Well, that's not TOO shabby for a beginner!

Then came Summer. Hazard was quickly able to build the newspaper carrier's house, so Tina moved into town.

We're still in early Summer. Summer 6, to be precise. Hazard has been giving gifts to both Iroha and Tina--Tina's still at a black heart (she's been here just a couple of days, after all!) and Iroha's is purple. Hazard has seen Iroha's black and purple heart events (the dialogue for them is now on the wiki!)

And that's all for the moment.

By the way, the name "Hazzard" is one that I've stumbled upon while researching my family's roots. Beginning in the mid 18th century, the name was used for multiple generations of one branch of the family. It's such an unusual one that I've come to like it, haha. I don't think I would actually name my son that, though.

Double post, but, meh.

Hazard has made a lot of progress!

On Summer 15, he proudly finished Town Restoration Plan #1.

He won the beginner class in the summer crop festival with a 2-star tomato. Then in the fall, he won with a 2-star rosemary. Now if only he could win a higher class...

On Fall 2, he finished Plan #2. He's still working on #3. (The only building left to build is the inn, which might take a while, since silver ore has decided to be rarer than gold, aaargh.)

His first gardening tour (Fall 11) wasn't a big success, but it wasn't a total disaster either. He made 2624G with a display of 16 ball topiaries!

Fall 26 was another milestone, because he was able to put a seed maker into his new maker shed. This will come in quite handy!

On Winter 5 he finally upgraded his watering can to gold, which felt like a HUGE achievement because he can now grow lots of crops without spending all day watering them! Yaaay!! That day also happened to be Iroha's birthday, so he decided to celebrate by giving her a moon stone he found in the mine. She was very happy. They both share a love of mining.

On Winter 5 he also upgraded his house. He now has a bath! And a toilet!! Yay! ...Kinda begs the question of where he was going to relieve himself before he had a toilet...and he never was able to bathe before now? Eeeew!

I didn't really have a specific personality in mind when I started, but I have noticed that, in my mind, he has developed thusly:

-Hazard is a hard worker. An extremely hard worker. He often stays out fishing until late at night--sometimes too late.

-Money is very important to Hazard. He's good at saving his cash, although he tends to gain it slowly, because...

-He is a big-time hoarder. There are some objects (branches, rocks, lumber, mushrooms, cultivated flowers, herbs, wool, etc.) that he very rarely, if ever, sells. Instead he puts them into storage. Who knows when they could come in handy?

-He's not very social. He'll stop and talk to someone if he happens to see them, and even give them a gift if he can, but he rarely goes seeking out others in their homes. He's simply too busy.

-He has an interest in cooking. He's been hanging on to every word of advice he can get from Clement and Hana (and is snatching up all the recipes he can!)

-He thinks Rebecca is awesome, and is always eager to see any new blueprints she's made.

-He loves mining. Something about being around ores and gems just excites him. He can totally understand why Iroha is so interested in them.

-Speaking of Iroha, he finds her to be a great friend. They seem to have a lot in common! She's the only person he really feels close to right now, though...

-He's getting closer to Yuri, too. However, she's pretty hard to get to know. But Hazard respects her hard-working spirit. And she's quiet, which is nice. He feels a bit sorry for her home situation, too; he thinks Emma might overwhelm her a little.

-However, he admires Tina for her boundless energy. She always seems to be so happy, too! Hazard always makes sure to stop and say hello to her when he sees her. Her cheerful spirit seems to rub off on him. He always feels happy and energized after talking to her! However, a little of her goes a long way. He finds himself tired when in her presence for a long time.

-He would like to be friends with Neil, but doesn't think Neil wants to be friends. Still, he makes sure to talk to Neil at every opportunity.

-His impression of Rod is basically the same as Tina's: cheerful and energizing! Rod has just moved in, but Hazard hopes to get to know him a little better.

-Allen scares him. He doesn't avoid Allen, but tries to keep the conversation short every time they meet. Sometimes Hazard finds Allen's self-centred way of thinking to be rather amusing.

Logan got himself a chicken and a sheep. He finally met Yuri and feels neutral about her. He dislikes Dunhill for always giving him a lot of work but takes it. Aaaand his more of a man who takes advantage of the natural surroundings than rancher having a hard time raising cows,sheep and chickens. He is slowly developing a grudge against Neil and ignores Allen. His main concern is earning enough to build homes to bring more people into the village. Hoping to find more friends that way as well as networking, a trait he was fond of when he used to live in the city. (yes that's my head canon)

A new year in real life, and a new year in the game, too! (Although I doubt Hazard had to listen to loud music from a nearby house from midnight to daybreak.) Also Hazard didn't spend the few days before New Year's feeling icky, blah, etc., like I did. >.>

Hazard's house is upgraded, and he has a double bed.

As soon as he had access to the land just east of his house, he came up with a plan and began its implementation: the area on which his house sits will be devoted to trees and beekeeping (and a few crops), while he will plant most crops on the terraced area that can be watered by the geyser.

As for friendship with the bachelorettes who currently reside in town: Iroha is at a pink heart, I think Yuri's is yellow, Tina's is green, Felicity's is purple.

Vegetables are of the "Popular" brand. Cow's milk, yak's milk, flowers, and sheep's wool are "No-Name" brand. Everything else is unbranded.

Animals:
Cow: Nissan, bought Spring 9, Year 1. 9 hearts. 2 bottles of milk per day. Won 1 festival.

Sheep: Camaro, bought Fall 3, Year 1. 6.5 hearts. 3 bundles of wool each time sheared. Won 1 festival.

Alpaca: Zonda, bought Spring 5, Year 2. 0.5 hearts. 1 bundle of wool each time sheared. Won 0 festivals.

Yak: Ferari, bought Winter 2, Year 1. 3.5 hearts. 1 bottle of milk per day. Won 1 festival.

Chicken: VW, bought Summer 8, Year 1. 6.5 hearts. 4 eggs per day. Won 0 festivals (came in second place, wouldn't ya know...)

Chicken: Ford, hatched Summer 27, Year 1. 5.5 hearts. 3 eggs per day. Won 0 festivals.

Town Restoration Plans
Plans 1, 2 and 3 are complete! Plan #4 is almost complete, but it will take some time, since I need to ship 30 yams for the Foliage Festival requirement and it's currently Spring... I also haven't yet built Michelle's house, but I'm close; all I need is one piece of Fluorite!

And those are the basics!

Speaking of the Foliage Festival requirement, I have a feeling Hazard is now going to develop an irrational hatred of yams. He didn't unlock them the first autumn, he now knows he needs to ship a few in order to finish Restoration Plan #4, AND he didn't receive that plan until Winter, the season AFTER yams can grow. Argh!! Yes, that smarts. Hazard will just have to keep himself occupied with all his other work until autumn rolls around again. He has plenty to do in the meantime: socialise (he has time for that now), grow crops, care for animals, fish, mine, chop wood, etc.

He's becoming pretty good friends with all the villagers, but his best friend is still Iroha. No, he didn't celebrate the Starry Night Festival with her (he gave that festival a skip, actually), but he sort of wished he could. Still, that's a romantic festival, and he and Iroha are just friends, so it would have been a bit awkward. And Hazard does not like awkward situations.

He was thoroughly embarrassed and a bit annoyed when the Harvest Goddess showed up to give him some advice on his love life, but the more he thinks about it, the more he realises he's a bit lonely. He went ahead and bought a ring from Hana, but he has no idea when or if he's ever going to use it. Even so, he has it, just in case!

One day Gear decided to load her game and suddenly she got into Iroha's purple heart event. She tried to record it but the video and the sound would not sync together and so this was made...



And now Logan got Iroha to purple heart and still needs Yuri to notice him. O_O

The sound/video sync at the beginning didn't seem too bad! Nice job covering it up with the other music, though!

In my file I'm now all the way to late fall of year 2, but not a whole lot to report:

-Hazard and Iroha are now dating! Hazard was being dodgy about it so Iroha took the initiative and confessed to him. She was already at a red heart by the time they began dating, so marriage probably won't be too far off...once Hazard gets up the nerve to propose, of course.

-Hazard seems to be a bit of a coward, actually...

-He finished Town Restoration Plan #4 after finally growing and shipping the yams. He's now on to the final plan! ...And it's gonna take a while, yup.

-He has as yet to purchase an outfit or get his hair done. Yuri and Allen are probably not pleased.

-After talking to Dunhill after each festival, Hazard is wondering if there's any type of job out there that Dunhill HASN'T done. It seems like he has experience in EVERYTHING.

-And this may be the last update from this file because I'll likely be starting another seeing as I splurged and finally got a Japanese 3DS, and my sister now wants to borrow my American one so that she can give ANB a try. So I'm going to get the Japanese version of ANB and start again. =P (Though I feel bad about ditching this file right before Hazard and Iroha marry. I should at least try to see their wedding.)

Yay! Hazard had to wait until mid-Winter to propose, as the first two weekends either had a festival or it snowed, but he and Iroha were able to tie the knot on Winter 22 or Year 2! <3
Iroha was quite lovely in her western-style wedding dress~. Hazard liked the lovely dress and veil, so that's what she wore.
