I've been hearing that this game was far better than Tree of Tranquility (Which I frankly didn't like all that much.) But I'm not sure if I should get it or not.
I checked around the internet for a review, but couldn't find any. So could a few people give me their honest reviews on the game? Thanks. |

I'd give it an 8.5/10
There's plenty of more added features. The ability to ride any live stock animal at a certain heart level, new characters plus rival children, and the island is different. The bells from what I hear are easier (never played ToT myself), and animals are easier to befriend too. The only thing that seems harder is befriending people. Another thing that you might like or hate (depending on how you play) is that the clock is 3x longer than ToT (1 HM minute = 3 real life seconds) that gets a bit annoying to me, but to others it seems better (I just like gettin through the day). Oh another thing that might make a difference to you is the slight lag, but it's almost unnoticable after about an hour of gameplay if that long. So uh. Hope that some what helped you. Haven't played for a couple of days, and I keep meaning to get back to it, but yeah. I'd say it's worth picking up. |

Well, I'm glad I got a review from someone who has only played AP. But I'd also like a few from people who can compare the two.
And befriending people is hard? It seemed hard enough to do in ToT because it was so tedious... There are no bad reviews, so keep them coming, people. |

Going into this game, this was Harvest Moon's last chance. I went into the game thinking, "Why do I care for this series anymore? The last few games haven't been good." I'm happy to say, I'm mightly impressed with the backbone and customization. It incorporated a lot of MM styles and it sort of has the 64 feel to it. This could be the best game, should I play it for a couple years. My thoughts are right on with Toaster's. I honestly didn't have high hopes for this game. I was beginning to consider myself an old school Harvest Moon gamer who became fed up with the series. I had next to no idea what this game was like going in -- which probably was for the best -- other than that it was an expansion upon Tree of Tranquility which I played less than a week of and didn't seem to enjoy. I am just in awe with this game. I keep trying to put it up in the ranks of Harvest Moon 64 and Magical Melody, but I'm still afraid to do so because those games are just epic. But I definitely think this is one of the best games in the series. I definitely look forward to playing multiple years in this title. It is stunning, beautiful, and there is oh so much to do. I feel Marvelous has now mastered what the Harvest Moon series has become. This game has a feeling I can't really describe. Saffy said it was heart. But in any case, ToT didn't have that for me at all. I played to Summer and got extremely bored of it. Haven't touched it since. But with this game, I could see myself playing for a couple years. Possibly creating multiple files.
For the moment, I finished the red bell and I'm working on the yellow on the 10th. |

Well if you talk and P2 rub someone (a feature I forgot to mention. It's where you take a 2nd Wii remote and rub over the character you want to get hearts on.) everyday it takes about 10 days give er take.

I've played both Tree of Tranuility and Animal Parade. can tell you immediately, this game is worth it's price and the wait. The graphics are smoother, the quest is more fun, and everything just seems new even though it is the same characters. The graphiics are a lot smoother and more realistic than in Tree of Tranquility. Just looking up at the sky could mesmorize you and make you just want to stop and star at it for a moment. The trees and plants blow in the wind, the water that falls from the waterfalls and moves throughout the land is very realistice looking. The characters are colored beautifully and much smoother looking. A lot of little details were added such as Kathy's ponytail moving back and forth while she walks. The questline is much more fun for anyone to get into. In Tree of Tranquility all you did was collect ingredient after ingredient which got very boring quickly (in fact I didn't even finish the questline), but in Animal Parade the questline offers variety meaning each bell requires different things for you to do such as befriending the villagers, collecting monnlight, to collecting ores. You can also work on as many bells as you are able to instead of having to stay stuck and focused on one. Everything just feels new. Seeing the people you got to know and love in a new enviornment is almost incredible and just doesn't feel the same as Tree of Tranquility. You feel a personal bond with each person as you get to know them. There are also a lot more events in this game. I absolutely love this game, and I know that it will be one of my all time favorites that I will be able to play for years. Marvelous, in my oppinion, has really reached the peak of the mountain. ;) If you have any further questions feel free to ask me! |

Okay, I'm getting the game because of what Toast and Saff said.
Thanks you two, I'm going to close this topic now. |
