She went over early in the morning to find his door unlocked. No, Haru, no. This is not how you make a good impression on someone you like. Fortunately he slept through it. |

I got forced into a cow by Neil. D: I didn't want one till later on. Completely forgot you get one for free. Your ahead of me. I'm on day..28th? Of spring. With a coop, supply shed and needing to buy stone material for Tina's house. The potato army has been going well. Also Mini the cow is close to a three star rating of milk. :) Also no matter how much I just want to be friends with Iroha (she looks like the older sis of my character) she will probably fall in love with me. =_= Darn you tool upgrades. :D How'd you get that milk score so quickly? Must know secrets. I ended on day 7 of summer. Tina's here and I got the first song. Black heart event with Neil accomplished, and got him to a purple heart. Finally got a chicken (named it Klook cause I was tipsy when I was playing and for some reason that was funny at the time), and spent most of my money on materials for stuff... nearly done with restoration plan 1. (5 more iron!) And I want to do some headcanons for my character/town because... I'm an adult. And I can do as I please. I'd like to see some of yours too! --Haru is slightly socially awkward and moved to the village to escape a world of customer service, which causes her anxiety. --She got a degree in architecture but couldn't get hired anywhere, so had to work odd jobs. That's why she can build houses like a pro. --She's a hippie who communes with nature (hence she can see the harvest sprites) and spends way too much time in the woods with the animals. She is very dreamy/ditzy/easily distracted. --She has an unhealthy lack of fear for the wild creatures, especially the bear. Against all odds the bear has not eaten her yet. --Toni and Haru got off to a bad start while collecting stuff for their house and he plays pranks on her and makes her life difficult by sabotaging her farming efforts. They both secretly think the other one is cool though. --Neil scares the s*** out of her and she has anxiety attacks when he's around cause of his rough mode of speech. After his black heart event she warmed up to him slightly, but still can hardly keep her voice up when she orders things from his shop. --She idolizes Tina and tries to emulate her. --Haru freeloads off of Emma all the time (and Emma just sort of allows it because she knows Haru's poor) She shows up unexpectedly for lunch/tea and they talk about novels and dreams they've had and weird experiences. --Haru is not a very good farmer, but she thinks she's awesome. Doesn't understand why she lost the crop festival. --Iroha makes her feel simultaneously calm and wistful. She's envious of her collected nature and beauty. They hang out after work sometimes. Haru always feels like she's bugging her, but so far she's the best friend she's got in town. --Fishing is her favorite pastime and she often escapes to the woods to fish and dream the day away. --Almost regretted moving to town on her birthday since no one was there to celebrate it with her. She cried that night, but other than that has fended off homesickness. --She longs for love, but is empowered and satisfied by her independence. --Haru is HORRIBLE with her finances. Total impulse buyer. Admits she has a problem. |

Yay! we'll do this together! :D I'm on the flower festival now-- Neil is a purple heart and I just built Tina's house. Still only two cows, but built a coop and hopefully getting chickens soon. Sadly I did not win the crop festival :< |

I wouldn't mind seeing cameos from multiple games. I always like to see how they re-draw characters for cameos. I agree! I especially love Elli and Gray in Tree of Tranquility. Their presence warms my heart in that game. I wish I could've seen the other flowerbud characters redesigned for wii. However, I also agree it's time for some varied cameos... especially forget-me-not villagers. Actually I've really been hoping they'll do a complete revamp of AWL mixed with the idea of HM:DS for console (with some new stuff sprinkled in too, of course). I loved the idea of the slow growth over many years, and the really immersive family system. To see it upgraded and redone... that would be stellar. |

If those aren't Juris/Ivan and Cam, they certainly do look like them! Personally, I'd love to see Ivan in another game. He was my favourite bachelor from Grand Bazaar, and since Dirk was in another game, why not Ivan too? Thanks so much for posting this, Sessy! I'm working on translating the website (starting with the prologue), and I'll post that here soon. Oh thank you for the help, Marie! I know you speak/read Japanese at a way more fluent level than I do, so any help on that front is veyr much appreciated. |

Yeah, I saw on the website that little rabbit toy. I think it's a japanese only pre-order bonus. Looks like they took a couple of pages out of ACNL's book with the swimming and stuff. I really just hope they find a way for the farming to feel less monotonous, especially late game. I remember toward the end of ANB I was just spending day after day tending to my farm and nothing else cause it had gotten so high-maintenance. They need to have a way to expand fully and still leave time for other things and keep the farming fresh. Not sure what this new town square system thingie is, I can try and translate that later too... I didn't take too close a look at it. Also I could write up short character bios too, if anyone wants. |

(IMG:http://bokumono.com/img/top/main.jpg) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=yBBnWnMZpXg Here's the trailer for the new game. Apparently the release date will be February 27th of 2014. Looks like a lot of the game is based off of ANB, and includes the ability to change clothes like before. New features the trailer discusses:
--Storyline-- (Translated by Marie) One winter day... The protagonist, whose life has been the same day after day, finds an advertisement in the mailbox. "We're currently recruiting a new ranch owner! Wouldn't you like to work with us?" One week later... The message saying the protagonist passed the ranch exam arrived. The protagonist quickly packed their things, and headed off to “Oak Tree Town,” thrilled about the excitement-filled ranch life! --Characters-- (Character biographies translated by Marie) (IMG:http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/SesshomaruLOVESme/MCfem_zpsbe6b38fc.png) Main character, female (IMG:http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/SesshomaruLOVESme/MCf_zpsb94af3b4.png) Main character, male Confirmed Bachelorettes: (IMG:http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a113/SesshomaruLOVESme/lilie_zpsb075322c.png) Lilie: "When I come here, I can relax, especially after I’ve been to work in the city." Full of life and with a love for children, she is the TV weather girl. Outside of the weather forecast, she also works as a singer for children’s programs and as an announcer, so she’s very busy. On her days off, she looks after her younger sister, chats with the elderly, and even in private works to help others, so she’s popular in town. She does everything according to a plan, so she doesn’t fare well when unexpected things come up. She seems mature beyond her years, and doesn’t often let her emotions show. The first news on this game by Harvest! QUOTE New Harvest Moon: Connect to The New Land Announced For Nintendo 3DS Next Year of coming soon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif) News: (IMG:http://I.imgur.com/5iwJNk9.jpg) QUOTE While Harvest Moon: A New Beginning came out last year in Japan and North America (with a more recent release in Europe,) Marvelous AQL are already working on the next title, called Harvest Moon: Connect to the New Land for Nintendo 3DS. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shares the latest details. Similar to Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, you’ll have the option to pick between a male or female protagonist in Harvest Moon: Connect to the New Land. The farming will also be made to be a little more simple in the upcoming installment; however, the overall flow of the game will be similar to previous Harvest Moon titles. As you progress through the story, you’ll be able to visit a safari, where you’ll get to encounter and take care of wild animals. In addition to having an increase of wild animals over time, the magazine reports that there will be about twice the variety of animals compared to past titles. There will also be a new “Trade Station” feature, where crops and dairy products can be traded to other countries. Over time, the amount of countries which you’ll be trading items with will increase, and you’ll also get to visit them on vacations or to deliver items they might need. Additionally, this time, there will be other ranchers who’ll serve as tutorial purpose characters, each with their own personalities to guide you through different aspects of the game. Harvest Moon: Connect to the New Land will also bring back fishing, and there will also be other features that involve playing in rivers. Something interesting to note is that, the meaning of “Connect” in the title implies communication features, but it shares another meaning of “connecting to the game’s world”. A Streetpass feature will also be available for you to share personal data with other players. Harvest Moon: Connect to the New Land is slated for release on February 2014 for Nintendo 3DS. Hey guys, let's stereotype ourselves~ (Cuz that's fun right?) I was a 'Choir Girl', all four years. Naive, pure and involved in all the choir drama and backbreaking work -.- Went with the choir to San Diego, New York, Honolulu, Orlando, San Luis Obispo, and various other less exciting places... I was the head of the decorations team and sang in Women's, Concert, and Mixed choirs :3 I was also one of those weird kids that hangs out with their English and French teachers and a Band Dork very briefly. :< What stereotypes did (or do if you're still in high school) you see yourself a part of? |

QUOTE ("Nurse Fin") ]If I did get a tattoo, it would have to be something cool like Ronald McDonald riding a dolphin during a sweet summer sunset. On my butt. I lolled (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) There is one tattoo I've been kind of maybe thinking about getting, but I would never actually have the balls to go through with it. This is what it looks like: (IMG:http://ancientegypt.hypermart.net/lostsecrets/ausar.gif) It's the Egyptian hieroglyph for the God Osiris, who's my favorite deity, the subject of my favorite myth, and the basis for my novel. I feel randomly very connected to him :) But as far as tattooing goes I'm afraid of the permanence. People change, and with that comes their tastes. I could never be sure what I think is 'COOL' now will be as amusing or interesting when I'm 40 hehe ....and on a related note ;D |

I got sick in Japan and I'm still sick now. xP *cough hack wheeze* Hopefully I'll get better soon, because it was a real downer being sick in another country and not wanting to do anything. Both me and my best friend got sick when we first went to Japan D: I have asthma and it was aggravated by all the smoke in the air and it ended up turning into a horrible respiratory infection... my life was saved by my inhaler twice D: As for my best friend she ate some weird food that was raw (they love raw eggs over there) and she got like dysentery status illness D: I felt so sorry for her :< |

Wow, many people responded hehe What publishing companies have you tried so far? Also, I am not saying your art is BAD or anything, but its just the true fact, you are not a professional so its not going to look professional. Chances are if you do get a deal with a company, look into commissioning someone to do the cover art, if you can. It will give it a very polished look. Your art is GREAT! But if you hired someone to do it, it would be awesome...er. :D I haven't tried any publishing companies because most of them don't take unsolicited manuscripts (Manuscripts sent by the author, not by an agent) Also, I never was going to use the art for the actual book lol I just put it up to show people a little more about the characters, etc. I know I'm no professional artist, just for lols :> I'd love to read your book. You've definitely earned my respect that you could dedicate yourself to writing for three years at such a constant pace. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to keep the flow going, especially when dealing with writer's block or even just having enough details to last 500 pages. But the fact you went over? That you have plans for two other novels? I am amazed by your accomplishment. Kudos. Would you have any tips for would-be writers? I love writing and have always wanted to write stories. As for your question, off hand I don't have any connections. My suggestion would be to contact any professors you might have had for English or Writing courses. My gaming connections won't be of much help to you. Awww thank you Saffy :> My tip for people starting to write is PLAN PLAN PLAN PLAN PLAN. Do not begin writing until you've got things sufficiently planned out. First start with your 'idea' and then try to put down and skeleton scheme of where you want to go with this. Make sure there are in the very least two sets of meaningful conflicts: One internal and one external. People love to see character change and growth in a book. Planning out things all the way and tweaking them until they are perfect is the way to finish what you started, and it'll let you see a 'thumbnail' of the finished product. This way you can change story things without having to rewrite pages and pages. I could go on but I don't want to bore you lol Oh, awesome. ^^ I've been working (off and on) on a historical fiction manuscript for about four years. I'm around... Oh, 75% done, I think. (I'm the kind of person who revises and revises and revises and who researches eternally, so... Dunno if I'll EVER get done. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ) A girl I knew in college had problems getting her book of poetry published, but she FINALLY found someone who would: http://www.publishamerica.com/ Have you given them a try? They say that they "accept more new and unpublished authors than any other traditional book publisher in the nation." (I'm gonna try publishing through them first IF I ever finish my novel.) Wow, this sounds promising actually! I'm definitely going to look into this, thank you so much for linking me here! :) Thanks again for all your kind words, everyone! I'm so glad you all like the sound of it :> (That synopsis really doesn't do the story justice D:) I'll let you know how things are going if the status changes on agents/publishers or anything else. :3 |
